Jewish Federation BIG EVENT: “Belly Laughs: Comedy That Cooks” – Saturday, March 3, 7:30 PM (at Beth-El Congregation)

A evening of comedy, a cooking demonstration, and the best darn baklava this side of the Mediterranean Sea!

Be entertained by Israeli-born restaurateur Einat Admony, the owner of four New York City restaurants who’s won the TV show “Chopped!” twice, and by Texas-born comedian Joel Chasnoff who served in the Israeli army and wrote a best-selling memoir about it.

Join us as we honor Arnie and Harriette Gachman with The Manny and Roz Rosenthal Spirit of Federation Award.

$18 per person, featuring a dessert reception. RSVP by Feb. 23 to Cindy Simon at the Jewish Federation of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

Project Interchange, an institute of AJC brings opinion leaders and policy makers to Israel. For one week participants experience Israeli society, connect with their Israeli counterparts and learn about Israel’s extensive contributions in their fields. Presented by AJC Dallas, the Jewish Federation of FTW and Tarrant County, Beth-El Congregation CAS and Chabad of FTW.

Special Congregational Meeting – Sunday, January 21, 12:30 PM

An offer has been made to purchase the CAS Ball Field. The Board of Directors will review the offer Thursday evening, January 18th, and make a recommendation to the Congregation Ahavath Sholom membership.

A majority of members, in good standing, at a special congregational meeting must agree in order for the property to be sold.

A special congregational meeting to discuss and decide to accept or decline this offer will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 12:30 at CAS. Members must be present to vote; absentee, electronic and/or proxy votes are not acceptable according to the CAS by-laws.

Chevra Kadisha Dinner – Friday, January 26, 7 PM – $18 per person

Make your reservations now to honor those who serve on the men’s and women’s Chevra Kadisha groups (those who prepare the dead for burial), and on the cemetery committee. Caring for our honored dead is an important mitzvah, and let’s honor those who do this work.

Tickets are $18 per person for those not on the Chevra Kadisha or Cemetery Committee. Honorees are guests of Congregation Ahavath Sholom.
